this is for my brother..39 years have come and gone since on that terrible day. When a man came to tell us that you had gone away. The memories I have are many. I think of you each day. I wish you were here now. There's so much I want to say. I am so proud of you dear brother. For what you have done. And in the hearts of many. My Daddy died of heart failure in Sept. 2002. He served in Vietnam. He was the proudest of his honorable discharge papers and his infantry pin. He taught me that freedom isn't free for all of us, and that there are so many that sacrificed so much so that I could live in freedom. He taught me to love my country. I love you and am missing you so much this veterans day. Happy Veterans Day Daddy.

In memory of my beloved father who left us on July 22, 2005. We miss you and love you so much.

In honor of my Dad, Cecil Verner (died 4-5-2005) and his three brothers who served in the military in WW2, only one was killed. Warren was killed in the battle for Anzio.

Joe was my father-in-law and having known him since I was 14 years old, he was like a second dad to me. He was a recipient of multiple purple hearts (USAAF/WWII). We miss you, Joe.

These retired heroes served their country with pride. They are proud of their involvement in the war and service they were priviledged to render to their fellow soldiers. I admire them and thank God for them and the bravery they showed and are still alive to share their stories. I love them all! They served in WWI, WWII, and the Korean War. Once again Thank You God for these retired veterans.

Dad served with the 32nd Division, 126th Regiment, Company M in New Guinea and the Phillipines, was wounded Thanksgiving Day, 1944. He passed away 10/11/05 and will be sorely missed by his family. Dad spent his last 7 years partially paralyzed as the result of a stroke, and has wanted to go "home" to be with his wife of 50 years who passed away in 1998. He finally has his wish and may God grant him peace and light.

I love you, Daddy. You're the best man I've ever known. I will remember you and miss your laughter for the rest of my life. I know it won't be easy, but like you told me once, "Ya gotta be tough to be part of this outfit." I'll be seeing you...

You are sorely missed. Larry & I will always treasure your love for us, your zest for life and your devotion to duty. Thanks for caring. God bless you!

You were my spiritual sister, Gloria, and a great leader and advocate of veteran's rights whose voice could not be stilled. Veteran of Gulf War I, Gloria was both paratrooper and, later, nurse. She also loved and rescued animals. Death was in Fayetteville, NC on the 19th of August, 2005. Miss you so much, girl, so much!

Just a scared kid from Arkansas when the draft notice came. He could operate farm machinery so they taught him to drive Sherman tanks.

Battle of the Bulge, Anzio, Rome, North Africa. He knew what hell on earth was. Even fifty years after he came home, he could barely talk about it.

He was married to my mom, Melba Bynum for 56 years and raised four sons. Buried at Houston National Cemetery. He was my father and I loved him deeply. I display his flag proudly in my home. He loved the Lord, his wife, and his sons.

I miss him terribly.
