To all those that have served
floral tribute
Let us not forget those who have served our country... It is they that have keept us free. I think of this often, knowing that I too may someday end up giving my life proudly for this country. It saddens me when I look upon the wall and feel as if one of my own relatives had been killed. I thank those that have served our country either with their time or their lives. May God bless you all.

Cousin: Died in Viet Nam
I traveled to Gulfport, Ms., to see the Wall you mentioned and saw my Cousins name on it - what a memory! I believe he was 21 years old when he got killed. There were other family members in other years and War, who served and some who also gave their lives. I have a Son-in-Law serving now at Ft. Bragg, N.C. as an Officer in the 82nd Airborne.

Your Tribute is so touching and what a wonderful way to remember our people who gave their all for our freedom, which was bought with a very high price.
[I have enjoyed this site tremendously and congratulate you on a job well done.]

We never had a chance to say good-by as we were both so busy doing other things. I remember the days we had since the fifth grade all the way through "BOOTS" at NTS, San Diego. In my travels I thought of you and our times growing up as young men. We were apart these past sixteen years and only recently learned of your passing. I wanted to tell you that I loved you as a brother and you played a big part in my life. Farewell Charlie untill we meet again.

Larry Cecil Cornwell
floral tribute
Although I only had the priviledge of knowing Larry a short time he was a man of honor and pride and even though he lived with almost unbearable pain, Larry was always a pleasant man to me. My fondest memory is of the early mornings when we would go to visit for the weekend and only Larry and I would be up. We would play scrabble and drink coffee until the rest of the family woke up. I loved those times and miss them. I am proud that his son and I were able to give him a grandchild and make his last days with us happy ones. Our memories will always be with him, may he finally rest in peace.

102 CANADIAN boys who became MEN IN A FEW SHORT MONTHS
floral tribute
Every year we gather to remember our brothers who paid the supreme sacrifice. It is only fitting that on this day, November third, just 8 days before November eleventh, I write this short note. They were all volunteers and all Canadiens who crossed the border and joined the U.S. Armed Forces; they were only boys but became men. We do not regret our decision to join but now look back upon it with honour. We thank the United States for being such a friendly neighbour to Canada. Sincerely, a proud veteran

Randall S. Ellis
floral tribute
Randall is the POW/MIA I have adopted through Operation Just Cause. He was lost in South Vietnam, April 18, 1969. Although I don't know him personally, a tribute to him and all or POW/MIA's is part of my website. I went to the Wall in DC last Thanksgiving and found his name. It was a very emotional experience. I am a Vietnam vet and 30 years of pent up emotions came pouring out. We must NEVER forget these men who were left behind.

On Thursday August 13th 1998 02:52:12 flowers were placed here in Honor of
Capt. John Alexander House II
floral tribute
I did not know Captian House, but I do feel that he has become part of my life. You see he is the name on my POW/MIA bracelet. I have had my bracelet for about four years now. I have even had to have it replaced because I bent it so much it was falling apart. The company I got it from had said that you could not request a certain soldier, which is how I ended up with his name, but my mom insisted and they allowed her to order a duplicate bracelet. My friends notice when I am not wearing my bracelet. Through some research I have located a family member of my soldier. That ment a lot to me. I just wanted to let everyone who reads this know that the men and women who gave their lives are more than names on a wall.

floral tribute
Rob was due to be discharged from the Marines just six weeks before his helicopter went down in the ocean off Okinawa in 1985. We had gone to high school together. I'd gotten married 18 months before, and had just had my first baby. I was so excited that Rob was going to come home so he could see the baby, when I saw the newspaper article "Ferndale Marine Won't Have His Homecoming". My heart broke. A year later, at our 5-year reunion, I saw Rob's twin brother Rich and broke down again. Rob was a gentle man, and a friend to all. He is still missed by many. His body was never recovered.
